What a live casino is, and who runs which part

Two businesses sit behind every live table. The studio films the dealer, runs the cards, dice or wheel, and writes the rules you see in the help screen. The operator runs the account, the cashier and the licence you depend on if something goes wrong.

That split is why a studio’s good record says little about the site you play on. Evolution holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, MGA/CRP/187/2010, as a B2B supplier. That covers the company that makes the game, not the casino that offers it.

How a live dealer casino round works

Every live game on this page follows the same basic loop. The details differ, but the order does not.

1. Betting time opens. A countdown runs on screen and you place chips on the bet spots.
2. Betting closes. Evolution’s Crazy Time rules warn that minimising the browser or opening another tab while bets are on the table may be read as leaving the game, and those bets can be declined.
3. The dealer plays the round. Cards are dealt, dice are shaken or the wheel is spun, on camera.
4. The result is read and settled. Winning bets are paid at the table’s published odds; the stake on a winning bet is returned on top.
5. The round is logged. Each round carries a game number, which Evolution’s rules tell you to quote to customer service if you dispute a result.

The four live casino games covered here

The house edge is the share of each bet the game keeps over the long run. It comes from the payouts, not the dealer, so it can be published and checked. The figures below come from Evolution’s own rules for Crazy Time and from Wizard of Odds’ published analysis for the three card and dice games.

Two figures are RTP and two are house edge. They measure the same thing from opposite ends: a 96.08% RTP is a 3.92% edge.

Why paytables differ between tables

The same game name can carry a different paytable. Wizard of Odds records sic bo totals of 4 and 17 paying 50 to 1 on the Macau table and 60 to 1 in Atlantic City, and a baccarat Tie that pays 9 to 1 at some casinos instead of 8 to 1. The table’s own help screen is the only paytable that applies to your bet.

Evolution casino studios and what Evolution publishes

Evolution makes live dealer games and live game shows, including Crazy Time, Lightning Roulette and Monopoly Live. It is the studio behind Crazy Time, the highest-volume live game in this site’s keyword research at 14,800 searches a month.

The company publishes its rules and return figures inside each game’s help screen. Its public game pages were region-blocked when this site was researched, so the Crazy Time figures here come from Evolution’s rules document as republished by Loto-Québec, a government lottery operator. The Evolution studio record lists its licences in full, including a UK Gambling Commission settlement in July 2026.

Live casino Philippines: who licenses what

PAGCOR licenses operators, and separately approves game content. Evolution appears on a PAGCOR EGLD approved live-dealer list, which means PAGCOR has approved its live games for use by operators it licenses. That listing is not an operator licence and says nothing about any particular site.

Evolution also opened its first Asian live-casino studio in Cebu in 2025 with the local partner One Visaya Gaming. OVG’s own PAGCOR B2C licence was revoked in August 2025; the Cebu studio continues streaming to operators under a separate B2B licence.

Setting limits before you sit down

Live rounds run back to back, and Evolution’s rules include an Autoplay option that repeats a bet for a chosen number of rounds. Losses can build faster than the pace of one round suggests.

1. Decide a session budget before you open the lobby.
2. Use the operator’s own deposit limits if it offers them.
