NinoGaming Responsible Gaming: Limits, Exclusion and Help Lines
Every casino game is built to keep more than it returns over time. Treat any money you play with as the cost of entertainment, and set the limits before the first spin rather than after a loss.
Every resource on this page was taken from PAGCOR’s responsible gaming page or from the Department of Health. Nothing is listed that could not be sourced.
Who may not play
PAGCOR’s rules, under its charter and Malacañang Memorandum Circular 6 of 2016, bar these people from entering, staying or playing:
- government officials and employees connected directly with the operation of the government or its agencies
- members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police
- persons under 21 years of age
- persons in the National Database of Restricted Persons
- Gaming Employment License holders
This site is written for readers aged 21 and over.
Set limits before you play
PAGCOR’s own advice to players, in short:
- Gamble for entertainment, not to make money.
- Treat money you lose as the cost of that entertainment.
- Set a time and money limit, and stick to it.
- Expect to lose.
- Do not borrow money to gamble.
- Do not let gambling replace friends, family or work.
- Do not chase lost money.
Signs it is becoming a problem
PAGCOR lists signs that include betting more than intended, playing longer than planned, trying to win back losses, debt or unpaid bills caused by gambling, thinking about gambling all the time, and borrowing, stealing or selling belongings to keep playing. Hopelessness and distress about gambling are on the list too.
One sign is enough to act on.
Exclusion
PAGCOR runs two exclusion programmes, and an order applies across all sites it licenses and operates.
- Self-exclusion is for players who feel they are developing a problem. Periods are 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. The first 6 months cannot be revoked, and the order lifts automatically at the end. Apply through PAGCOR’s online self-exclusion portal with an image of a government-issued ID and a selfie taken during the application.
- Family exclusion lets a spouse, child or parent apply for a relative. Periods are 6 months, 1 year or 3 years.
The PAGCOR self exclusion walkthrough covers the application in more detail.
